As we close the books on our sustainability work for 2022, we are both proud of our progress and humbled by the magnitude of the challenge posed by global climate change. We are keenly aware that clothing production, like most human activity, is taking a toll on the planet and we are committed to minimising our impact, without compromising the quality of our garments. That is why always respecting the planet is one of our strategic goals, meaning that it permeates our entire organisation. Measuring our progress is key as we continue our sustainability work. Goals must be backed up by concrete numbers, third-party verifiable facts, and effective action. This has been our stance from the early days of our sustainability work, when we began measuring our CO 2 emissions and developed an Environmental Product Declaration for clothing, and it remains our approach to this day. Last year, the work to measure our im- pact accelerated with the implementation of Worldfavor, a digital platform for sustain- ability reporting and management, as well as supply chain transparency. We have also integrated our sustainability work in all our departments, with clear targets for each. That means the sustainability work at Fristads, Kansas and Leijona is not just driven by our sustainability team, but by the entire company. Additionally, we made great strides when it comes to closing the loop on our production, by creating the infrastructure needed to collect and recycle our garments on a larger scale. As a company, we have made a commitment to safeguard the environment both for the present generations and those to come. We don’t believe this work will ever be completely done. But I can reassure you that we are working daily to make our environmental imprint smaller tomorrow than it is today. “Circularity is the future of clothing production and we will ensure that we are in the forefront of this development by establishing a solid sustainability offer.” Anders Hülse, CEO of Fristads
